CRANES FOR HOPE

If you have a child or young adult who needs to earn community service hours you will want to read this post! Please share to your wall and help spread the word. Thank You.

The Inches of Hope Childrens Cancer Foundation is starting its Cranes for Hope project. We are looking for dedicated kids and young adults who would like to give love and hope to a child battling cancer while earning community service hours.

This is a wonderful project for kids and young adults to come together as a team and share the promise of hope!

The purpose of Cranes for Hope is to send joy and hope to a child who is facing serious life health challenges by giving paper cranes. When children are ill, there is much comfort in knowing that people care about them, even if they have never met.

The ancient Japanese tradition of senbazuru promises that a person who folds 1000 cranes will be granted a wish, such as long life or recovery from illness. Many times a family or group of people come together to accomplish this labor of love. A group is called a flock and it’s up to the flock to complete the task, earning community hours.

A child battling cancer will be appointed to each flock. The 1000 origami cranes will be presented to the sick child with the hope of recovery.
